On January 14, 2020, Microsoft ended support for Windows 7 operating system. Although Windows 7 computers will not stop working, these computers will be more exposed to malware (Virus) infection and other online threats. As such, it has become important that current Windows 7 users migrate to Windows 10 operating system, as soon as possible. Here are some helpful information about migrating to Windows 10 from Windows 7.

Why you should migrate to Windows 10

Technical Assistance

Microsoft customer service will no longer provide any technical help to Windows 7 customers. This means that these customers will have to resolve their issues themselves or seek third party computer service.

Software Update

Microsoft provides software update to deliver new features and security measures. The end of support for Windows 7 means that current Windows 7 customers will no longer get new features and security update. This means that the bad guys can now exploit any known Windows 7 weakness without a hope that Microsoft will release a patch or update to fix the weakness.

Internet Explorer (IE)

Microsoft will no longer provide any update or technical support for Internet Explorer on Windows 7. This means that Windows 7 PCs will be very vulnerable to browser-based attacks.

Microsoft Office

Many Windows 7 users use Microsoft Office. Microsoft Office applications installed on Windows 7 will not receive updates. Note that depending on the version of office you have, your Office experience may be different when you migrate to Windows 10.
